Florence Yeschko, I am going to my friends funeral today. I want to write a million words. I met her in 1987. I was 21 years old and a Agent at Fred Sands realtors. Another agent by the name of Tom Larkin had Johnny Carsons long time office building listed on Riverside drive, in beautiful Toluca Lake for sale. I was the floor broker at the time. (Taking the random calls that came in) Florence, was a school teacher, and was also a principle in the South Central L A area. She was a depression era child, knew hardship and worked everyday in her life. Florence listed an office building she owned with me. It was next to the car wash at the corner of Pico blvd and Beverly in the Beverly wood area. We did one of the first reverse exchanges in California history. There were nine lawyers on the other side of the deal. I suggested Florence get one. She said I know how to read! We met almost everyday for two years at the carriage house restaurant on Sepulveda at Burbank, figuring out the complexities of this deal. Florence always spilled coffee on the papers. It became our tradition in all of our deals. If the papers did not have coffee on them, I would spill it on them myself. Florence always put the creamers and sugars that were on the table in her purse. I sold her a building in that exchange in the Toluca Lake area. I one time walked in on her in one of the units. She was in her seventies, she was hand sanding hardwood floors. Not to save a buck, but because they needed to be sanded. I will always thank her for passing on that mentality. I always said, Florence could ride a mechanical bull, and tire it out. Florence and I worked with each other every year since we met. She was a no nonsense person and I loved her. She was 98 years old. I will celebrate her life for as long as I live. Today I will mourn.
