Focus On The Word 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV) 18 While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. A very important key to operating in faith is in this verse. We see here that we are not to look at that which is seen. A better way to express this is to say that which is perceived by the physical senses. This verse goes on to state what we should look at. Where this verse says that which is eternal, it is referring to the Word of God. So in essence, we are told not to look at that which is seen with the physical senses, but concentrate on the Word. It does not say that what is seen is not real, but we are told not look at that. Instead, we should focus on the Word of God.
