Folks, good afternoon. I wanted to take a moment and shed just a bit of light on a few things. Im a generation Y so I started this RV life 2 years ago not having any idea of what to expect. Yea Im a young person to most folks. The question I see a lot is can it be done and what to expect. Well life is unpredictable and so are RVs. You can never thoroughly be prepared for everything that will happen-trust me I KNOW. In our life we dont have another house waiting on us or anything of the sort. This camper is it. We chose this lifestyle 1. Because its cheaper than renting an apartment 2. With my husbands line of work we have to move sometimes several times a year. 3. It makes you appreciate everything that you have especially when you have a limited amount of space. I would love to tell you that even if you bought a $90K camper it wouldnt have any problems but that would be a freaking lie because nothing is built with perfection. I lived in a 99 Coachmen and trust me when I say this- I never thought I would see poop coming up and shooting up like a volcano but it happened. Also, you have to remember that everything really is trial and error. You will learn from your mistakes and youll learn how to educate yourself and stand up for what is right. Im sure Dometic hates me and Im getting ready to ensure they really hate me since my heat pump has been down for 2 months now. In a nutshell folks, some of us do this lifestyle because of work or because financial reasons and so forth. It all varies. Money comes, money goes. Some of you get to walk slowly into this lifestyle which is great and others of us didnt. Let me tell you this much though- The people that you will meet and that will be by your aid when you need someone they are out there. This campground Im in and have been since April has over 120 Full Timers and the rest of the slots are just for folks stopping in or railroad workers. Full Timers make up a huge network more than what most people could ever imagine. So just remember this- if you are doing this lifestyle- buy a camper like you would buy a house. Make sure it has what you need and what you want. Keep it in your price range and make sure its something you are comfortable living in for say the next 5-10 years. Weigh your pros and cons. Youll be OCD when it comes to organizing but hey anything you donate, write off on taxes or sell it on ebay or have a yard sale. If you have that determination and mindset to make this life work-- IT CAN WORK. No dont worry Im not preaching to anyone but hopefully this will help put someones mind at ease. Till then, take care. :)
