Folks need to understand that until I lose the confidence of the President to be his Special Executive Assistant (SEA), I am still the SEA to the President with the full authority to use my SEA letter head with the Government of Sierra Leone coat of arms. I have worked as SEA for 16 months now. I have NEVER been queried because I always work within my mandate. I only have one boss in the executive arm of Government and that is the President. He is yet to query me on ANY of my activities over the last 16 months. Not once!!! The following letter is 100% within my mandate as SEA to write. So until I get sacked as SEA or redeployed to another assigned position, you all just grin and bear it. I am working according to how my mandate empowers me to work. Carefully read this letter and tell me WHERE I ever represented myself as speaking on behalf of Health Ministry. **How na English na some man dem problem? ------- SIERRA LEONE GOVERNMENT Special Executive Assistant to H.E. the President STATE HOUSE, FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE. Box 32041, RPO McGillivray Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada R3T 5S3 phone: 204-774-1102 email: [email protected] Saturday 28th June 2014. Dear International HOPE Canada, LETTER OF THANKS & DEEP APPRECIATION FOR DONATIONS TO SIERRA LEONE I write to, once again, on behalf of the Government and People of Sierra Leone, formally thank you, for your kind donation of medical equipment and supplies to Sierra Leone through the Sierra Leone Nationals Association of Manitoba (SALNAM) Inc. The donations, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, were well received by the Ministry of Health & Sanitation team led by the former minister, Madam Zainab Hawa Bangura (now working at the United Nations), during an auspicious event that was televised on national television and covered in the local media. It is a fervent hope that collaboration between International HOPE Canada & SALNAM can continue to grow in order to promote health and well-being of citizens and residents of Sierra Leone. I will also like to bring to your kind attention, the menacing threat of an Ebola outbreak that is currently ravaging parts of Sierra Leone and which has been described by World Health Organisation and other international health NGOs as the “worst” Ebola outbreak in History of mankind. If there was ever a time when Sierra Leone needed medical assistance, it is now. Personal Protective Clothing, Sanitizers and Chlorine are amongst the topmost priorities needed most urgently in Sierra Leone at the moment. It is hoped that SALNAM’s partners at International HOPE Canada might be able to step up again and join the world in speedily addressing this ongoing crisis. Please find attached recent news reports. Yours sincerely, Sylvia Olayinka Blyden (Dr.) Special Executive Assistant to His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. CC: SALNAM CC: File
