Following the success of our new intensive course Russian for Beginners (for external learners), we would like to announce also the following new courses (again for external learners): 1. Français de la Diplomatie et des Relations Internationales 2. Deutsch für den Tourismus Today, we are celebrating the European Day of Languages (26th of September, edl.ecml.at/) and what a coincidence! Our university community can celebrate this day in the best possible way announcing new courses to a group of learners we didn’t have earlier, external learners, and hence giving the chance to more people in Cyprus to learn another foreign language. As many of you know, the European Union has identified the importance of plurilingualism towards achieving the goals of the Lisbon Strategy and has set trilingualism as a minimum requirement for the European citizens (Barcelona European Council, March 2002). That means that the acquisition of the mother tongue plus English is not enough. Do we all speak at least 3 languages? Can we all communicate at least in 3 languages?
