Food thought of the day: As I was making about 5 gallons of corn - TopicsExpress

Food thought of the day: As I was making about 5 gallons of corn salsa last night I started cutting up my peppers, green onions, and other things going in it. I cut off every little flawed particle of each single thing from onions brown tips, peppers little black spots and the pethy part of the insides that isnt a good quality ingredient and it all of a sudden hit me.........I wonder if there is one single company that mass-produces food that actually cuts rotten spots out of fruits and veges or if they just chop it all up and let it fall where it may in the vats for final prep. I think we all know the answer there and if you dont Ill gladly tell you cause I had a cousin who used to work in the Campbells tomato soup factory and the stories he told of things that were done in the food would bring a fat kid to starvation..... After thinking about all this I then started thinking about how we wash our veggies and fruits, handle them in a clean manner in a clean kitchen, and can them in clean and then boiled jars to make sure everything is clean..... Things that are thrown in our foods to keep them fresh looking, preservatives, dyes, flavorings, chemicals, and everything else we ingest and we actually wonder why there is so much sickness and cancer? Never doubt the term mystery-meat has taken on new meaning with me in the food industry........ Just my thoughts
