For 3,000 years Jews have prayed in and/or towards the Temple. First, Solomons Temple, designed by King David, was built. Then it was destroyed and the Second Temple was reconsecrated 70 years later, and this was elaborated on by Herod the Great until it, too, was destroyed. But why do the Muslims pray there? Mohammed, the founder of Islam, had a dream, in which he ascended to Heaven from the spot that was once the Holy of Holies, where the Ark of the Covenant stood (it should be noted that many believe this to be a dream and therefore, he never set foot in Jerusalem). However, Jerusalem is only the THIRD holiest spot in Islam and is not mentioned in the Koran or the Hadith, and the “Farthest Mosque” as it is called, is deemed to be Jerusalem in their commentaries. Jerusalem is behind both Mecca and Medina in Islamic holiness, where Mohammed actually lived . In Mecca, is the Kabba, a temple that holds statues to various pre-Islamic Arab gods. Mohammed used similar tactics to the church and incorporated this into his new religion and now Muslims pray towards the Kabba. This happened, however, only after he was rejected by Jews and did not want to pray to Jerusalem, and several early Mosques face Jerusalem, not Mecca. As a result, Muslims bow towards the Kabba when they pray and there rear ends point towards the Dome of the Rock, the Holy of Holies. They treat the area with no respect, like they treat the cityy they live in. There are riots and graffiti which do more damage to their own properties and buildings than Israel’s. The Waqf actually encourage this behaviour and the Mufti of Jerusalem fails to condemn or ask for peace. Is this really any surprise? Afterall, Islam is the religion of violence and destruction, just loook at ISIS. In the Koran, there are two halves. The one half preaches peace, but after Mohammed’s rejection by the local Jewish and Christian tribes, he became violent, and several teachings say that Muslims should follow the later teachings as those are the closest to our times. If the local Arabs are willing to desecrate their own holy sites, why should we trust them with peace. Besides, their leadership, the PLO still calls for the destruction of Israel in what is called the “Palestine National Charter of 1964″ “Article 17: The partitioning of Palestine, which took place in 1947, and the establishment of Israel are illegal and null and void, regardless of the loss of time, because they were contrary to the will of the Palestinian people and its natural right to its homeland” Peace is not possible with the so Palestinian-Arabs. They want the whole of Israel, not just East Jerusalem, Judea & Samaria, and Gaza. What is Israel supposed to do? The mentality of the Arabs need to change and then, maybe, just maybe, peace could be achieved.
