For BJP the projected Modi wave is over and now surviving Modi is on. Finally the projected modi wave is over and now surviving modi is on. Modi stands now where he was ten years ago when BJP air dashed him to Gujarat -Outsider, alone and scared. Only difference is unlike then this time he had the backing of money power and the mountain size projected image(or is it the shouting syndrom of scared?). The first mistake was If modi was not the choice it would have been a cakewalk for BJP as incommuniquo congress has left the ruling space for anyone to walk in with so much public scepticism about congress, its leadership and its functioning. With Modi, BJP lost all those middle class liberal people who otherwise would have supported BJP with their disgust for the congress. As Chinese once famously said after the 62 war that “funniest things about Indians are they believe in their own propaganda..” that was the second mistake of BJP. They believed their own propaganda that there is a modi wave in this country when in 60 percentage of parliamentary constituencies they do not have the party or party alliance. Third mistake is Sharukh syndrom. Remember Sharukh khan during his prime days in his ambition to become the “no 1” in bollywood, in public perception he was having fight with every other actors in industry and portrayed as super man in his films with glitter and girls. Result was all his victims got celebrated and his fate doomed till he corrected that public perception with a sober face and humility. Modi and his bandwagon unfortunately confused that it was his agression that sustained him in power. The recent disputes including Advani issue would not go down well with his not so elderly fans who are still patriarchal in their belief and practice. Fourth and the biggest mistake is BJP while putting up his candidature believed with modi’s projected image and with the support of RSS they could tackle their lack of pan India organisation structure. The point BJP missed is RSS despite its hydra headed organisation structure still hold only less than thousand members even in the BJP dominated constituencies. With the projected image all modi could galvanise so far is mob and in a cadre party like BJP their influence is only marginally relevant. Also this mob can change their loyalty the moment he disown his “khatar panthi” projected image as they are united for the hatred for Muslims than the so called pro development stand. Organisation structure of BJP that is evolved under Advani and other old guard will still be loyal to them with their loyalty towards patriarchy where Modi who was away from national politics for long time will remain an alien to them. They are certainly going to undermine Modi not only for their loyalty but for their relevance in the party. Now BJP probably realised these mistakes. Actions during the Last few days gives ample proof for the same. They are desperately inviting any tom dick and harry non BJP defector who are perceived to be in a position to garner votes into their party fold with fanfare and seats. They are trying to unsettle and tame own party’s organisational structures and the old guard by humiliating them. Imagine these are taking place at the last leg of election dates!! BJP sure don’t believe in modi wave any more so are many of their allies. Finally the projected idea of modi wave is over and now surviving modi project is on. With the reluctant congress and failed BJP, let us now welcome the third front with outside support from congress or BJP. Sad but it is the factual reality else let us fear for a communal flare up...
