For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse of scripture can easily sum up the true meaning of Christmas, Love. An unconditional Love. By this single act, God not only showed His love for his people, but by sending His only Son to bear the sins of the world, He gave His people hope and He full filled His promise to His people. Christmas should be a time of great joy and festive events with family, friends and loved ones. But it should also be a time of healing and renewed strength knowing we are loved and that we have the gift of hope. We are approaching those last 12 days before Christmas, those days when we should wake each morning and in our quite time and in the quite places of our heart seek healing for the pain we have experienced and the power to have hope in renewed strength in the coming year.
