For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, - TopicsExpress

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. ~Jeremiah 29:11 I hearing a statement from the Lord, ‘derailed destiny.’ Strong words, I thought. Thinking about that statement, and not fully understanding what causes a derailment, I decided to do some research. I looked online to find out what caused a train to derail. I discovered that it isn’t as many think, that something on the track causes the derailment, actually studies prove that a train can move 4,000 lbs off the track without ever derailing or even slowing it down. Actually, there are two causes of derailment, one is going too fast and the other is failing to apply the brakes when needed. Pretty simple. I could quickly see why God had said this. I believe God does not push, He leads us– if you are feeling pushed and rushed to do something, be very careful and seek God to make sure it is Him. This rushing and being pushed ahead can cause your destiny to derail. Remember this, if the enemy can’t get you out of God’s plan any other way, he will often try to push and push and push. Also we are to be still and know He is God. He leads…gently. If God is telling you to hurry and do something, there will be peace in it, no anxiety, no rush, peace will lead you. If peace is not present, stop and pray. The other thing that causes derailment was failing to apply brakes when needed. There are times and situations where we simply must stop – apply the brakes. I have been in situations where I was moving forward and thinking something was of God and suddenly in my spirit I hear a loud ‘stop!’ Generally at that time, it will be very uncomfortable to stop – there may be other people involved and feelings will get hurt if I stop. Perhaps I have even said I would do this (this being whatever it was that I was involved in)’ yet I hear ‘stop’ in my spirit. At that point I have a decision – I can stop and apply the brakes, apologize for any hurt or inconvenience or I can keep going and derail my destiny. honestly, I have been on both sides. I have had situations where I heard ‘stop’ and I stopped – there may have been a little damage but no derailment. And then there was a time when I thought I was going God’s way and I sensed a ‘stop’ in my spirit but I felt I was too far in and couldn’t stop. It derailed part of my destiny and I am still awaiting restoration in that area. You see, I know how difficult it can be on both sides but the truth is that it is never worth the cost to go against what you are hearing in your spirit. If you are feeling pushed, slow down and listen for God – if you are hearing ‘stop’ then please…stop. Apply the brakes and allow God to show you the danger that is ahead, allow Him to show you all of the sharp curves and things you need to be aware of, but don’t derail your destiny. With all that being said, I want to remind you that an obstacle put in your path can’t derail you if you don’t allow it to. You can move right over it without being derailed – the only thing that derails is going to fast or failing to apply brakes when necessary – otherwise nothing can stop your destiny from coming to pass…no obstacle can hinder your destiny if you don’t allow it to. I also want to tell you that if you have derailed your destiny, you are not without hope. It doesn’t take long to get a train back on track and it won’t take long to get you back on the path of your destiny …simply ask God to help you get back on track – He is so merciful that His mercy is new every morning. Don’t allow the enemy to tell you that you will never walk in your destiny if you have been derailed, even if you caused the derailment – he is a liar. God, Himself, will place you back on the perfect path of your destiny if you only turn to Him. He will make sure that your destiny is fulfilled and that you walk in it – just turn to Him. Today I pray that all your tracks are obstacle free and you move exactly at the speed God would have you move and that when necessary…you quickly apply the brakes…and in following His lead, you walk in the fullness of your destiny!
