This is to inform the general public about the work plan that will come out of the summit in regards to immigration reform. Event: Press Conference Date: Sunday March 16, 2014 Hour: 4:00 p.m. Place: Communication Workers of America Hall Address: 4422 E. Ashlan Avenue, Fresno, CA 93711 During the day, May First Coalition for Immigrants Rights, as well as other individuals and allies organizations will meet to analyze the conditions on immigrants’ rights and create a work plan for this year. This is a wider effort to add on support on the issue of immigrants at the local level and unite forces with other movements in other places in search of a just and humane immigration reform. Since September of 2010, organizations that have united to fight for the rights of immigrants and efforts to counter anti-immigrant sentiments and actions that negatively affect us; we met for the first time with the interest of building a stronger and broader movement representing all sectors. In August 2011, there was a second meeting to continue to build a continuing effort to seek better living and working conditions for immigrants and their families. We continue with this approach to provide opportunities for building this movement stronger and wider. Once again, we extend the invitation to other organized movements, individuals directly affected and those who are sympathetic to immigrants to unite our ideas and work together for the good of our community.
