For Israeli citizens, serving their country through mandatory volunteerism is an honor and a privledge, whether it be through army service or other national service after high school. Its almost like a rite of passage into Israeli society. For citizens with special needs who want to volunteer, there is a special unit for them, so that they too can serve their country just like the others, by volunteering and contributing to their level of ability, and they dont need to feel that they arent good enough to serve the country that they love.
