While it may be coming from a place of good intentions, the notion that we should be asked to humanize any people is, frankly, rather preposterous! How arrogant we are to suggest that the burden of proof lays on the shoulders of those who are actually human to prove that they are, in fact, human? We need pictures of the burnt and disembodied corpses of children to prove that what we are looking at is the body of a human? We need pictures of decapitated and crucified bodies dangling from poles in public squares to prove that these bodies belonged to a human? Instead, shouldnt the onus be on those who are committing the most atrocious acts against humanity - in all corners of this world - to prove that THEY are human? What a disgrace.
