For all of you that struggle with the concept of the minimum wage, you should watch this short video. It does a pretty good job of explaining that the minimum wage is fundamentally flawed, counter-productive, and hurts the lowest skill workers. The minimum wage is a completely arbitrary dictate of value; only the market determines true value NOT the government. This is like the government saying that everyone needs milk and its a basic right to every American, so to ensure equal access, milk cannot be sold for more than $2 per gallon. Pretty good huh? Everyone should be able to afford $2 milk, right?! Well, one of two things will happen: 1) It costs farmers more than $2 to produce milk, so there will be no more milk; or 2) There will be a huge new government program to subsidize dairy farmers. The minimum wage is a total political sham for control and political expediency; without a doubt, it absolutely hurts the economy and American society.
