For many years from around 67 to 73 I would have delivered a newspaper at some point to most of you, I worked for Mr Wright at Wrights newsagents as well at some point for the one in Civic Square, 4am every morning Id get the papers off the train from London (1 pound per week) id sort out all the rounds for the other paper boys to deliver (another quid), Id then do 2 rounds in the morning every morning and then go into the docks and sell papers on the ships, all prior to going to school. Afternoons deliver the Standard, Thursdays the gazette, and then multiple rounds and docks on weekend, grand total on average per week 9 pounds!, that was more than I earnt when I got a full time job with the Decca Record Company in London, I loved doing the paper rounds, but fondly remember Mr Wright, taught me a great work ethic. To everyone I knew, i fondly remember you, especially the girls in St Chads cookery class LOL.
