For my support Mr. Mallott, you would have to promise too make a commitment to actively work on issues involving the First Peoples and their interests. I mean the executive branch working with the legislative and judicial branches. Quit spending the Alaskan Treasury fighting against our Indigenous Tribes, and Tribal members. Valid Existing Rights, to live with dignity on our lands, as sovereigns, as is stated by our leaders. Quit fighting our rights to hunt and fish in our way, which we have the right, with a region wide consensus of strict responsibility for harvesting our resources. Repeal SB 36 that Republican anti Indigenous legislators, passed in 1998, to empty the villages, by closing their schools. Actively work to put an Alaska Indigenous History curriculum into the statewide school system. All schools with no exceptions. There are too many Alaskans who dont know the history of this land, prior to, and after the Russians sold this land to the European immigrants. Make a mandatory Indigenous culture education workshop for all State of Alaska employees, elected politicians and judges, to ensure they have a basic understanding of our culture and some of our side of issues. Make a commitment to address the Indigenous perception of unequal justice in Alaska, that our people are being shoveled into the privatized prison system for the profit margins of the prison corporations, and their investors. Ensure that all Alaskans have the freedom of choice to make decisions concerning themselves. Ensure that courses dedicated to race relations, are given in school, in regards to the different races who live in Alaska, to actively work to rid Alaska of acts of racism, that too many of us have had shoved on us, have shoved on others, or have stood silently by, as we witnessed others doing it. I know I am as guilty as the next. Actively work against any legislation or policies, from the state and federal governments, that is unfavorable to the Indigenous people in regards to their rights, lands and resources. I am a Independent, since both the Republican and Democrat parties disgust me with their blind allegiance to money and the corporations dispensing money, instead of ordinary Americans and their issues. If you look to the root cause of our problems, it is sending money overseas for this or that, and cannibalizing American infrastructure and the health, social and education programs that benefit the ones who dont make as much as they did, before the Republicans and Democrats sent their high paying jobs overseas. Promise me that you would make an effort, for the Doyon region, and the other regions, Byron, and Ill go to bat for you!
