For one to speak in tongues as it is spoken of in the Book of Acts - TopicsExpress

For one to speak in tongues as it is spoken of in the Book of Acts (5th book in the New Testament) it was foreign language a gift given by the Holy Spirit to the speaker to communicate Gods message to the hearer in their own native tongue. This spiritual gift to speak foreign language is nothing like the out of controlled babbling we hear today among some of our primitive Charismatic Churches or among those modernized liberal wanna be Charismatic Churches holding a flag of another denomination but fall at the feet of Charismatic practices. The foreign tongues mentioned in the Bible was intended to convey a message of hope understood by the hearer, the Holy Spirit is highly intelligent and will never cause a gifted person to speak things that cant be interpreted. example: If the Spirit uses an English person to speak to another English person he will cause them to speak English. But if a Mexican who never spoke English arrives speaking Spanish no one would understand him unless they have the gift to interpret. O.K. say not one of the English ever learn Spanish but as the Holy Spirit uses one of them giving them the gift to interpret tongues to get His message across, He leads him to speak Spanish (a foreign language to himself being an English speaker only) to the Mexican about the hope in Christ. The Intellectual Spirit of God will never have His called People to act Ignorant and out of order, for it is written do all things descent and in order. 1Cor. 14:40
