For our English-speaking friends (based on news.liga.net) Whats up with the amnesty for Ukrainian protesters? On Wednesday, Parliament began to hope for a peaceful settlement of the conflict between the government and protesters. Some deputies of the presidents party were ready to compromise. The President had to intervene, he personally came to the parliament , explained to his party (regionals) that there wouldnt be any concessions to the protesters. According to party members , he threatened to the party members who didnt agree with him. Opposition bills provide unconditional release of all detainees of anti-government protests. This was to open up the possibility for further negotiations to resolve the conflict . Regionals insisted on their bill. Its essence was to ensure that at a certain date protesters must leave the administrative buildings and the roadway. After that, the government will solve the issue of releasing prisoners and withdraw penalties for previously convicted. We have no confidence in the opposition - let them leave the buildings first, - explained the pro-presidential regionals . We have no confidence in the government - let the first release the hostages, and then continue to negotiate, - retorted the opposition . During a break the presidents crisis manager arrived to speak to his party, then - the Prime Minister. Regionals walked out to consult. It was no longer an attempt to trick a Simple Simon. Soon after the parliamentary corridors were filled with tense guys with walkie-talkies . Opposition confirmed - President came personally to convince the deputies that concessions are unnecessary. The conversation was long and loud. According to the regionals ,the guarantor threatened to dissolve the parliament . At the end of the meeting I heard applause. Revolt in the presidential faction was suppressed. As a result of the presidential majority of Regions, Communists, and 11 independent deputies adopted an amnesty law as amended by the authorities. Voted blindly. Nobody saw the text. Freedom faction leader Oleg Tyahnibok called it the law of hostages. He also drew attention to the fact that the decision was made with violation of the procedure. No text has been distribute. The bill was introduced last, and therefore could not be put to the vote first. Besides scoring 232 votes for includes fake voting.
