For our Ex Pats and those who cant get to the coast, a pen - TopicsExpress

For our Ex Pats and those who cant get to the coast, a pen portrait of my drive along by Trow Lea. In the air a flock of kites following the wind and in their midst a pair of courting seagulls oblivious of everything but each other A puppy gamboling up to an older dog who ignores it completely, intent only on reaching its patiently waiting mistress. The pavement is littered with a group of charity walkers in blue t shirts to match the sky, their numbers thinning out to a straggle of determined, tired individuals: well done Diabetes Uk, may your coffers be fuller tonight. A gathering of dudes on the kerb, changing into wetsuits before chasing the surf; may it be high for you today. A team of young footballers with nothing but their jerseys for goalposts, whose enthusiasm i swear, hangs thick in the air. Parents slowly walking hand in hand, smiling at the joy their children are feeling at being able to run so long and so fast without obstruction. in the distance near the cliff edge, a gathering of walkers, each with a rucksack full of things invisible but necessary...water? bait? maps? (just dont turn left..too wet!) At the bottom or Redwell Lane, a small queue waits patiently for the most delicious ice cream to be served, and two little girls are clapping their hands with glee as their daddy hands them theirs, laden with raspberry sauce. i turn right, loath to leave these lives but happy to be going home richer for the sights just seen. Hast ye back just once to savour the delights of your Sandancer Coast!
