For over two years myself and many others have worked extremely hard to get the right thing done in New Zealand - and that was to ban shark finning. Today that ban comes to life - because of the collaborative effort and Govt listening to its people, over 100,000 sharks a year will continue to service our marine ecosystem. I truly hope that the government follows through with enforcement and management of this ban so its not all smoke and mirrors.
