For some reason I cannot sleep. So instead, Im drinking seltzer water and watching a documentary on heroin. Ive always been naive. Even still to this day, I am. I trust people too much and I believe in them when others have given up. I forgive too easily and because of that, I am taken advantage of. Heroin is a horrible, nasty drug. And because of the pharmaceutical companies, we now have an epidemic in this country. People we grew up with, who we loved like family and never thought would hurt you, are hooked on it and steal from you, just to get the next hit. My heart aches for those who have been affected by heroin. Who have been robbed by family and friends, who have lost a loved one because of it and who have battled it or is battling it. What many of us forget, is that the moment someone takes that first hit, they are no longer their self, but an addict. But I will never give up on addicts. Because, while they may be one for the rest of their life, they still deserve love and at least one cheerleader who will always, always believe they can find the strength and courage to walk away from it.
