For special ceremonies at airports, often the airport fire department vehicles will drive out and produce a water spray stream above an aircraft. At Miami (MIA) Tower and TRACON recently, that high honor was reserved for four longtime NATCA members upon their departure from the facility for the last time as they drove into retirement. It was the last day at work for Scott Pearson, Bob Geith, Ed Holden, and Tim Richardson. They have been valued members and great controllers for at least 25 years and more, MIA Facility Representative Bill Kisseadoo said. We will miss them greatly. There were seven total retirements within a recent two-week period.
