For the 15th anniversary of Samusocial International, we asked Doctor Xavier Emmanuelli, our founder/president, to express himself on his best memories: “The first memory that comes to my mind is when the current mayor of Pointe-Noire expressed his will to work with Samusocial International to implement a Samusocial in Pointe-Noire. That meant that the local authorities would take ownership of the structure. Another one is the first meetings in Alger, the discovery of street people and the creation of a Samusocial, with the Willaya, in an insecured context. The 3rd one is a “maraude” with a Russian doctor in the streets of Paris. He did not speak French but asked people on the streets why they did not work for the Samusocial! Another one: the streets in Bamako where we met children who were sleeping in groups. But when they recognized the Samusocial Mali‘s car, they shouted “Doctor! Doctor! » to obtain medical care. Finally, above all, for me these past 15 years have been meeting exceptional people based in our different fields.” Do you have some other questions for him?
