For the 3rd time since Christmas, a woman has told me that her OB told her that VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean) are illegal. THAT IS 100% FALSE. (I had one 2 months ago with an amazing OB here in Tallahassee.) A couple of them quoted a (bogus) 30% risk of uterine rupture from their OB. (Its actually less than 1%.) Who are these doctors? Why are they blatantly LYING to their patients? If a mom chooses a repeat cesarean over a VBAC when she has accurate facts, thats her right to do so, but doctors lying to patients is total BS. (Yes, cesareans are sometimes necessary and can save lives. Thank God we have them for those cases. That has NOTHING to do with this. This is about women having the right to know facts regarding the healthcare decisions of both them and their babies.) #VBACFacts
