For the last 15 years or so, I have poured my heart and soul into hardcore music... and its been an amazing ride. As an artist and promoter, Ive accomplished everything Ive ever wanted to and so much more. Between DJing, writing, doing Kandieland, coordinating lineups for countless other hardcore shows, and organizing the recent HTID USA event (with an awesome team); I can honestly say that I couldn’t be happier with the adventure Ive had in the world of hardcore. So why am I writing all this? Well.. I’m taking a break... Ive been reflecting on life a lot recently and the truth is that my priorities have changed. The last decade and a half has been fun, but it has also taken a toll on me. Now I need to focus on my health, my career and making a family with my amazing wife, Nikki. HTID USA will still be a thing. But I won’t be nearly as involved, as it takes too much away from the other aspects of my life. I’m still very excited to see what the future holds for the event and Im sure it will grow and continue to do amazing things. When it’s all said and done, I feel so unbelievably blessed to have so many amazing memories with some of the best folks from all over the world. So thank you to all of my friends, colleagues and everyone that supported me over the years. I appreciate all of you more than I could ever express. Tomorrow (Nov. 5) marks my 34th birthday and my first day of not being Rize anymore... Or at least not for a while. Regardless, Im excited for the adventure that lies ahead. Much love, James
