For the last couple of years I’ve been enjoying the old Alfred - TopicsExpress

For the last couple of years I’ve been enjoying the old Alfred Hitchcock Presents/Hour TV series, which ran from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s—and I watch an episode nearly every night. Always well-written and often brilliantly produced and acted, the show tapped the same deep talent pools of short-story writers and actors as “The Twilight Zone.” Anyway, because I watch so regularly, I find myself impersonating character actors from the show, often without realizing it. Working around the house, I’ll do Percy Helton, John McGiver, John Fiedler, Henry Jones, Robert Emhardt, Howard Morris, a young Charles Bronson or a young Bruce Dern (a Hitchcock favorite, who typically played a creepy psychotic drifter or ranch hand)—and Kristen will say, “Who are you doing? Is that someone? Who am I talking to now—is it you?” Many people think Kristen looks like Laura Dern, Bruce’s daughter.
