For the month of July the five counties that had our states highest unemployment were Bamberg-12.1%, Orangeburg-11.8%, Allendale-11.4%, Marion-11.3% & Barnwell-9.9%. The Palmettos States total unemployment rate was 5.7% which was 22nd in the nation, tied with OH & PA. Regional rates were; GA-7.8% ranked 50th, NC-6.5% tied with AK, MO, NJ ranked 32nd & TN-7.1% ranked 43rd. On November 4th, 2014 we have our general election, and we have the opportunity to elect a representative for HD #90 (Bamberg, Barnwell & Colleton Counties) that will be a effective voice in Columbia.
