For the past 24 hours I have been doing my level headed best to try to help a good friend who is in some serious trouble. Long story short, this is a college educated guy with a degree and a 6 figure salary who has always been one of the most responsible people I know. He apparently has also developed a taste for meth... Now he is in a rehab facility, jobless, soon to have his home foreclosed on and is looking at felony charges. To make matters worse, he moved his mother in with him several years ago to take care of her and finally got her into a place of her own (with him paying the bills) about a year ago. I have resigned myself to the fact that there is nothing I can do for him past making sure he has a good attorney which is done. It bothers me more to think that his mother may not know where he is and quite possibly is not being taken care of while he is away. Now begins the journey of trying to locate her and see that she is okay while he tries to get his shit together...
