For the past two years, I found myself becoming like the church in Ephesus. In Revelation chapter 2, Jesus calls out the church for doing good works such as resisting and rebuking evil. However, Jesus also says, This I hold against you, youve lost your first love. It is so easy to get into just going through the motions of going to church, singing the songs, and even doing ministry and forgetting the reason behind all of it, Jesus. When we actually forget Gods commandment to us, Love one another, then the rest is a waste of time. It makes me think how many people Ive met in church and didnt really get to know. How loving am I then? Am I being the Christian man that God wants me to be? The answer is no of course. I am called to love people outside the church walls. This means meeting with people and spending time with them outside of church. Ministry happens outside the church walls. I thank the Lord for awakening me from my spiritual slumber, its been way too long.
