For those in the gridlock on I-59/20 near the Tuscaloosa/Jefferson County line between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham... one person is confirmed dead, another injured and taken to a hospital after a shooting on the Interstate. Multiple reports indicate that law enforcement is in a search mode, possibly looking for the shooter. This is not confirmed, however. One follower on Twitter in the traffic says @spann I would advise anyone stuck on i20 around mm 100 to lock their doors. Police still looking possible shooter. Traffic has not moved much in over two hours in the area; avoid if at all possible.
