Hello everyone, We are gearing up for our Spring Training session for those individuals who wish to become more involved with our agency, specifically as a Direct Volunteer. Our trained volunteers complete a 50 hour training session. Through a combination of about 30 hours of online self study and 15 hours of in person training, along with a minimum of 5 hours of practicum training, the successful candidate will assist with responsibilities such as answering our 24 hour hotline, in office clerical and administrative support, court accompaniment, support groups, childrens activities, public speaking and community outreach. In addition, we encourage volunteers to assist with fundraising and as steering committee leaders. Our online training will begin in February. Our in person training will take place on the 5 Tuesdays in March. Those sessions are mandatory for completion of our training. All online sessions must be completed before the end of March. A handful of the courses must be completed before training begins. There is a $40.00 course fee payable to DVCCC and a $10.00 fee payable directly to PA Child Abuse Clearance registry. If the course fee presents a financial hardship, please email me directly. If you would like to receive the application information, please email me your request.
