For those of you who couldnt make it down last Friday night to the game or for those of you who dont read the sports section of the Cairns Post, we BEAT Leps the 2013 A Grade Premiers in a fantastic game of Netball. Leps coach was quoted as saying in the Cairns Post last week We wont look at Lightning too much and We know that skills wise we are superior so we just need to play our own game They might want to start fearing Lightning as the ladies are starting to peak at just the right moment, with finals commencing next week!!! The team played an almost perfect game of Netball convincing those who may have had any doubts that these more mature players have what it takes to go all the way to the Grand Final. Sharon Finnan lead the way in her best game of the season, rarely missing. Supported by Goal Shooter Selina Taylor the two dominated the ring. Mid court players Anita Narula, Kristen Ramsey and Leanne Bell showed great strength and accuracy in their feeds, centre passes and mid court defence. The circle defence was outstanding with Fiona Jarden and Vanessa Ramsey proving to be a force to be reckoned with this season. Both ladies really shut down all Leps shooters showing real grit and determination. The Lightning ladies are going into this Friday nights game against the top team Saints full of confidence and motivation. They know what needs to be done and are getting ready to strike. Dont miss out on this game it will be a cracker!!! Game starts at 6pm!!!
