For those that advocate citizen dis-armament, especially those who look at this meme and snicker. Consider the following: - There are currently 110 plus legal, law-abiding gun-owners in America - If the antis plans ever do come to fruition, that will make roughly 1/3 of the population overnight criminals, people who previously were contributing, law-abiding citizens. - If only 10% of those people are of the from my cold, dead hands variety, thats 10 to 11 million that will not turn them in, and more importantly, will actively resist being disarmed. - Many of these are miltary veterans with combat experience. - We live in a nation that spans 4 time-zones, just the lower 48 States. - Think, a massive land-mass, with 10 to 11 million armed men who will not voluntarily be dis-armed, and are prepared to kill or be killed over it. - This isnt even counting the fact that the country is already more ideologically polarized than it has been since 1861, were probably over-due for a blood-letting, this would probably do nicely in touching off the powder keg. I supect it would evolve into a Well, since were at it anyway, why dont we take care of................?. - Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions will die. The country will be wrecked. - Is it really worth all that? Just because you hoplophobes are terrified of that AR-15 in my gun safe (Which has never been used to harm a soul, and wont be except in righteous self-defense). - There is a simple solution to this, stupidly simple............Leave us be, leave us alone on this subject. If you dont want a civil disturbance, dont disturb us. - Devote your attention instead, on the criminal underclass who terrorize our streets. Some 80% of the gun violence in American is committed by gang-members. The vast majority of those who commit gun violence cannot even legally buy or own a gun, they are NOT the legal, law-abiding gun owner, boys and girls. End of rant.
