For those who are interested : SPURT CAR (Self propelled ultrasonic rail testing car) . Countrys first Self propelled ultrasonic rail testing car was launched by ICF in 2005 . This Rail Car is capable of detecting , analysing , locating various Rail Track flaws & defects , and is fully automatic & computerised . It gives report of detected defects in a desired format , and can cover upto 70 km a day . It has been found that Major reason for rail accidents is defective rails , welded joints and points & crossings . This State Of The Art SPURT CAR is an appropriate answer to this major problem .
