For those who care, you will be getting mainly notes, as i have no time to compose logical prose. Australians have a much more intimate personal space, makes me constantly think someone is trying to talk to me or possibly rob me. Super friendly, everyone is amazingly helpful, and genuinely seems to want to make your visit to Sydney a positive one, they love their city. As I walked to get dinner I looked up and saw dark figures flying over head. At first I thought they were ravens, but the wings seemed off. On closer inspection it turns out they are massive bats, flying foxes. Im not unconvinced that they could swoop up a small child, albeit that child would have to be made of fruit as these are giant fruit bats. An adorable possum crossed the path in front of me and I followed him about, once again the natives were unamused by the creature, but amused by watching me try to take a picture of the cuddly beast. I got a phone for Australia, and Facebook messenger seems to be my savor, am able to call the US for free, which is conveniently cheap. Girl at electronic stores seems enamored by my american accent, she seems rather excited by the idea of California, I tell her that Sydney is awesome and move along. Australians seem to live america, and also seem to have been likely to have been to our country. Took a 40 minute walk to grab dinner the streets were packed with people out for the night. Girls in small dresses and guys with their hair done. They whistle at girls differently here, its a a sharp high note lasting half a second. Everyone seems to be wiling to strike up conversation with me, without any provocation. Made it to Harrys Cafe De Wheels, the go to spot for meat pies in Sydney. Order a tiger which is a meat pie with a scoop of mashed pies, a scope of mashed potatoes and covered in gravy. Also order a hotdog de wheels. A hotdog covered in the same ingredients with the addition of garlic and chili sauce. Chili food is the Australian way of saying spicy food. I order my food to go and head back to my hotel. I take a wrong turn and find myself on an unlit street flanked by abandoned, menacing looking buildings. I quickly find my way back to a main street without incident. Most girls wear flats, not sure if thats an observation of Australians or just a result of the amount of walking being done. Back at my hotel I eat, the meat pie is delicious but the hotdog steals the show. The city is lit up outside my window, I decide to sleep with the curtains open so I can awake to the sunset over the harbor. I dont even remember getting into bed, then its morning. Emergency number is 000 instead of 911, I wonder if this results in my accidental dials. I have yet to see a police officer or car, but cameras are everywhere. Think I should find a proper meal today. Hotdogs and burgers for the past 4 days doesnt seem to be cutting it. Getting use to walking on the left side of sidewalks and stairs. Still cant seem to get the hang of crossing the street without the screeching of tires and blaring of car horns. Considering renting a car to drive out into the bush a bit, probably will crash. Takes me just under an hour by foot and train to make it from my hotel to my office. Apparently koalas and kangaroos are not as common of a sight as we are led to believe, in fact I was instructed to go to the zoo if I wanted to see one, I may go to the zoo but it would be to see a playtapus, although I may wander the jungle in search of one instead.
