For years, Todd & I handled questions about the socialization of our homeschooled children. People feared we were raising them in such a way that they would turn out weird and socially awkward. If you know my two graduates (Emily and Hannah), I think you would agree that that argument is totally without merit. We never felt it was necessary for them to socialize within the school setting when there were ample opportunities in other places - that also had more supervision. Keeping them tucked away from the world was never our intention. We want our children to know about the world, including other peoples beliefs. I realize that not everyone shares our Christian faith - God allows you to make that decision for yourself. But I am completely astounded by this article. How far have we fallen? If this is what public schools are forced to distribute, I want nothing to do with it, thank you very much. The Great Deluder indeed.
