Well here we go again, Phil passed out, hit his head on the door - TopicsExpress

Well here we go again, Phil passed out, hit his head on the door Sunday night. I could not get him up, but he was unconscience for approx. 1-2 min. So it amounts to he has fallen every day since his heart attack 8/14/2014. He was told Friday by his PCP that he was loosing the use of his legs, due to not using them. So he got upset and starting getting up more frequently, so he let the dogs out and then got back up to let them in. He became very dizzy and fell hitting his head against the closet door and passed out as he fellto the floor. Friday night he got up from his recliner and fell on the end table by the couch and broke it beyond repair. Sat. night he fell again after just standing. So the story begins, he was evaluated at VEH by Shanda and Dr. Weathers. They both agreed with me that something was just not adding up. So Shanda began the phone calls to Chapel Hill and Greenville. Dr. Ford, Phils vascular Dr. said that he felt like he should have evaluation of his heart in Greenville first, so that was done, Now the neurologist has done their evaluation, and there is a problem between his heart and the carotid. After the carotid u/s the neurologist said that there is a small trickle of blood that is flowing through the rt carotid artery and that is why he cont. to have these episodes. So today they are going to start a series of test, every time he stands he has a low blood pressure. He is scheduled for and MRI and from there Neurologist is discussing angiogram of the carotid. He said that he does not believe he is having these episodes from the left carotid, but from the rt. So the Drs are discussing him today and deciding who will do what , or if he will have to be sent to Chapel Hill.
