For you, Gaza (Testimony of Nora , from Gaza, with Unadikum International Brigades ) Go to Gaza means for many, visiting a region of risky world, where war : a term that can be accepted once youve been there. But then , we should clarify what we mean by this word, and above all, were talking about . If we talk about Israel, we should speak of a war of aggression and if we consider the position of Palestine , in this case we can speak of a form of defensive war . In other words, resistance to aggression . With form of offensive war I mean that a conflict is observed in terms of equality. With form of defensive war I mean that the Palestinians are not a single voice , and that, as in all countries of the world, some of them chose to resist the occupation and the blockade by force of arms , and this it is a fact that can be understood even if not shared . However, when one comes to Gaza, and is not a utopia or an ideal, we find that form the majority, ie civilians like you and me who just want to live. Most within a population of more than 1 million 700 thousand people ... ? Asking the right to live ? What does this mean? ... One is left speechless by this. We do not know what to say. Why not have that right ? A right that is not tenable , since its obvious who Can Israel be given the right to life or death of Palestinians ? In what basis ? And who allows that? We have all the answers to these questions when we are able to understand the workings of this world and the issues are intertwined . However, we have a duty to let people know that if they have the right to live, Gaza is a populated region of the world like any other, and that human beings , men, women, children , farmers, fishermen , students ... I could go on, still exist, even if we choose to deny it. Coming to Gaza with the association UNADIKUM has allowed me to meet farmers , fishermen and various associations to help these people. Meet the farmers means to be present at his side, just so they can cultivate their land near the border , which are located at a distance of between 100 to 500 feet of it . How? We put a fluorescent vests with the logo UNADIKUM to know Israeli soldiers guarding the border illegally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week , that international are present to inform everyone what Israel means when proclaims itself as the only democracy in the Middle East. Our presence does not mean that we avoid the daily attacks , but at least it helps to reduce and most importantly , can return to their land to Palestinian farmers . This example can explain what is the interest of the international presence . Today , one farmer told us that he had been unable to set foot on their land near the border for 12 years. Now you can do it again for 2 or 3 years, since the association UNADIKUM took into account the situation of Palestinian farmers and decided to develop the concept of the international presence almost permanently . We are not aware of what this means. Just give our time so that they can live : time to change our life! Is it balanced ? In this situation, my only answer is that we have a duty to be present or at least for those who can not get there, to share this information . I am neither a journalist nor an expert , much less fervent political or any other sensible concept represented by a single voice of the people. I speak in my name, that of a simple citizen , who believes in simple human values, this is trivial . Nora Handala Citizen of the world
