Rebecca emailed--I need some input. I had a RBKA 4/13. I had RSD pretty bad in the foot and ankle, and with the removal it was hoped it would control it. Well it didnt. Its very painful to wear the prosthetic and after many shots I did a Medtronic Neurostimulation Therapy trial. I dont like pain meds, so this was my option. Well, the trial worked great on my limb but my back hurt so bad I had to have it removed in two days. I was told that during the trial, you dont get pain meds and the leads go through muscle in my back which caused the severe pain and spasms. I have been assured by Medtronic and my doctor that the actual implant is like surgery, sore for a week or two then I wont even notice it in my back. I am unsure. Its been 5 days since the trial and my back (which NEVER hurt) is still hurting. I dont want pain meds, I want relief of the neuropathic pain in my residual limb. Does anyone out there have one, can you tell me did your back stop hurting and are you happy with the unit. What is your experience, any information is greatly appreciated and really needed.
