For you amateur photographers: Well I missed my calling as a photo journalist. I absolutely love taking pictures of nature and life. I have had so many compliments and feedback on my photos and writing, my efforts have been rewarding. Since I know nothing about the technical aspects of photography, my thoughts were that it was easy to take photos at all the beautiful places I have been so fortunate to visit and that I perhaps had a decent eye for the art. I have been taking a National Geographic DVD course and it has been great, learning from some masters of photography. I also have found out that I have many innate skills and already were using processes that these professionals employ. The three cameras that I use are the Canon Power Shot G12 and Power Shot SX30 IS and a Olympus Stylus Tough 3000 (waterproof and shockproof) that I use for backpacking and underwater activities. I have filters for my Canons but rarely have used them. What amazes me is that I take a lot of photos with my Iphone 6 on the fly because I am able to post them immediately and often times the quality blows me away! Anyway, I wont get anything published in National Geographic but I sure am having fun writing trip reports for my blog .....there are over 200 of them. ellobogrande.blogspot and mini reports with PICS on FB.
