For you that have been praying for Heidi Crouch and John, thank you. Today was a difficult...but also a hopeful day. Heidi did have a stroke last night, as was expected. It was worse than the doctors were hoping for, so a major portion of one side of her brain has been damaged--so her dominant/right side is currently paralyzed. The good news is that she is responding some and is moving her left side extremities (including trying to pull her tube out) and lifting up her leg. They still do not know the damage to her cognitive, sight, and speech functions, but remain hopeful by these signs. Also, when her kids are mentioned, there is eye movement (while her eyes are shut). Theyve decided to do another surgery tomorrow to remove another part of her cranium, so that her brain has space to continue to swell without damaging her further. There will still be many days until they understand the full extent of the damage and degree of recovery possible, but nevertheless, John and their family are very encouraged. Heidis mom and dad were able to travel here today and be with John. Again, thank you for your prayers and your continued support to this family.
