Weather Situation A high pressure system just south of the Bight currently extends a ridge over Tasmania, directing a cold southerly flow over the state, while a trough is developing over New South Wales. The high will pass just south of Tasmania tomorrow as the trough to the north deepens. A low is expected to develop on the trough then track southwards over the coast before moving near Flinders Island late Tuesday, while the high tracks south of New Zealand. Another low is forecast to form east of Tasmania during Wednesday, and will move over the state, while the low over Bass Strait persists.
