Forever unlucky at checkouts. My husband laughs at me for always getting into really bad delays at checkouts -- supermarkets, Costco, dept stores, ikea, or even an office supplies store. Somehow, through a weird twist of fate, the person right before me always encountered a problem, from a surprising price tag for eggs that needed to get checked, to having no working credit/debit card despite having a wallet-full of them. So lately I dont line up at checkouts anymore, and just had my husband do it. Until tonight-- husband had to stay in the car with the sleeping baby; so i went into the supermarket alone. Everything went perfectly fine, i got into the shortest line, with a guy before me just buying some healthy organic peanuts with his craft beer. The cashier was quick and efficient and bagged his purchases while he was swiping his credit card. Then lo and behold! The cashier shrieked. Her computer crashed as she pressed the final key that would have generated a receipt. My bad checkout karma strikes again! Have i angered any checkout god while I was at PRN?!? (It is a funny coincidence that i used to work for a company that developed programming for in-store tvs, including those found at supermarket checkouts)
