Forgiveness and Remembering “For if you forgive other people - TopicsExpress

Forgiveness and Remembering “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:14–15) The Bible teaches us that we are to forgive others just as God forgave us for our sins. Does extending forgiveness mean that mean that we are not to remember the Holocaust or mans inhumanity to man? Should we forget the forces of evil that drive men to commit the acts of aggression and inhumanity that were carried out by those who destroyed over two-thirds of European Jewry? To do so would cost us dearly. Today, these same forces lurk behind the Hamas and Fatah Palestinian leaders who are inciting violence in Israel. It is behind the European leaders and organizations that are boycotting, sanctioning and divesting Israeli companies and products in a false concern for the so-called oppressed Palestinian people. These acts are aimed at weakening Israel so that it might again fall, begging for mercy, at the feet of the world. Of course, such a thing is not God’s will. He promised this land to Abraham and his seed. “I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them.” (Amos 9:15)
