Forgiveness is NOT calling evil good or denying that there was an offense. Quite the contrary, it is acknowledging a wrong and exposing evil to the light. When we say God is merciful and ready to forgive we must never forget that He is also holy and righteous. Shall we continue in unrighteousness in order that grace may abound? God forbid! He loved us so much that He gave His only Son to die in our place, and become Sin for us. That sacrifice was at a cost and necessary because of the seriousness of evil and the necessity of holiness. Without seeing Gods holiness we can never truly appreciate His forgiveness and what Hes done for us to His glory.
