Former Aston Villa assistant manager Roy Keane tried to confront midfielder Tom Cleverley over media reports of a bust-up. Keane reportedly blamed on-loan Manchester United midfielder Cleverley as being the source of stories alleging the Republic of Ireland no.2 had clashed with senior players before his exit. The Sun reports that Keane turned up at the 25-year-old’s home in Cheshire on Tuesday and began “furiously pressing the doorbell”. He is said to have waited for around 15 minutes without any answer before leaving the property. Keane’s visit is said to have been captured on Cleverley’s CCTV. But the former Manchester United captain is said to now accept that England international Cleverley was not behind the media reports and is reportedly looking for another target.
