Former Essendon coach and Current Giants board member Kevin Sheedy has told SEN that he would never try to poach players from other clubs by taking advantage of their off-field problems, particularly in the case of the Bombers at the moment. Essendon Paddy Ryder has already told the club he wishes to leave due to the ongoing supplement saga and the Giants have come up as a prospective club for the player. However, Sheedy believes that although GWS have enough draft picks and spare parts to offer a good deal for Ryder he is unlikely to reject offers from stronger placed clubs. “I think we’re an outsider to be honest. “We think we’ll be a really good side in the next two to four years. “We’d love to get him but it’s going to be difficult for us to do that.”
