Former NFL Player Requests Stay of Shooting Lawsuit The friend of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez filed a lawsuit in June claiming Hernandez shot him in the face in February. Hernandez, who has already been indicted for the murder of another man, is requesting the court suspend the lawsuit to avoid potentially incriminating himself in the murder case. A clerk for the court said that it is uncertain whether or not the stay will be granted. The plaintiff is seeking more than $100,000 in damages.
