Forsyth County Sheriffs Office deputies have been undergoing extra training recently with some newly acquired equipment. Using funds acquired from drug seizures, the Sheriffs Office recently obtained 20 automated external defibrillators. These AEDs were distributed throughout our patrol shifts, P.A.C.E. units, and on our Marine Patrol boats to maximize coverage. Frequently, deputies will be first on scene during medical calls. This is especially true for our Marine Patrol units. Having this equipment on scene faster could make a huge difference in the event of cardiac arrhythmias.
