Forwarded as received: Please be informed that in addition to the MQM sit-in at MA Jinnah Road, similar sit-ins are being organized in other parts of Karachi. Some places include Liaqatabad, Malir, Gulshan e Iqbal, Korangi and Nazimabad. According to available reports the scope of these sit-ins is likely to increase as the day progresses today. The party leadership and workers claim that these sit-ins would continue till the time they are able to talk to their party convener Altaf Hussain. Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) leadership has announced that it would keep its transport off the roads today. Protest demonstrations and sit-ins are also being staged in other cities and towns of Sindh. It is expected that MQM protest demonstrations would also spread in other cities of the country from today onwards. Altaf Hussain has now been shifted to the hospital but he continues to remains in the custody of London metropolitan police.
